Elementary & Middle School

The right approach to meet today's high expectations.

In elementary and middle school, our focus is on delivering strong core academics in innovative ways. Along with traditional, textbook-based and teacher-led instruction, our teachers ensure that students master core content, and also know how to apply their knowledge to new problems.

The following themes are employed to make instruction meaningful and engaging for every student:

Academic Excellence - Our academic curriculum for the core subjects of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, foreign language and the arts, sets the framework for the content of what is taught, while allowing our skilled teachers to customize the delivery of the content to meet the needs of their students.

Personalized Learning - The key to personalization in learning is assessing the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of each student and using that information to deliver and adjust each child's learning.

21st Century Skills - Our projects embrace the core academic content standards as the foundation of all learning and incorporate that content into project learning experiences that include 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, communication, technology and self-direction.

Service Learning - Giving Without Walls projects allow our students to identify a community service need, investigate issues, research and evaluate possible solutions, develop and implement a plan of action and assess their results.

Specialty Classes -  A strong focus on specialty classes such as Spanish, art, music, technology and physical education and wellness round out our curriculum and differentiate our offerings from many local public schools that have cut back in these areas.
